Here comes an easy pradhaman from Amma for everyone planning to celebrate Onam. Not many ingredients are necessary for this paayasam and it tastes like parippu pradhaman.
Ingredients:
1 cup dates cleaned and soaked in 1 cup water 3 tbsp ghee 1 cup thick coconut milk 1 cup thin coconut milk 1/2 tsp cardamom powder 10 cashews split
Method:
1. Grind the dates along with the water. 2.Heat ghee in a pan and add the dates paste. Saute for 5 to 10 minutes till the paste becomes thick and ghee separates out. 3.Add the thin coconut milk.Cook for 5 minutes. 4.Mix the cardamom powder in the thick coconut milk and add it into the pan. 5.Switch off the flame as soon as the pradhaman starts to boil. 6.Garnish with fried cashews.
PS: Add more coconut milk if you feel that the paayasam is too thick.Add melted jaggery if you feel the paayasam isnt sweet enough.
